More Montana Wildlife

I caught this mule deer just as it got ready to scale the fence into the sagebrush. He was just curious enough to turn around and look at me.

Smile!

Yes, I know! We have cows in Indiana, but we don't usually see them free-ranged and grazing along the roadside. In fact, we had to stop and let this gal cross the road.

Just Curious

This beautiful lady came right up to the fence when we stopped to take pictures. The rest of the herd just kept grazing. Probably thinking, "tourists!"

On Vacation

I am on vacation to Montana right now. I know this blog is supposed to be about Indiana, but I thought you might enjoy seeing some pics from my trip, so I will be posting some from my daughter's computer here in "Big Sky Country."

The building on the left is Kester School. It is a one room school, grades K-8. The building on the right is the "teacherage" and a garage. (The school had a water leak, thus the toilets sitting outside right now.) This school is 26 miles out into the county, 11 miles from the nearest ranch, but is really quite modern with satellite service, each child has a laptop, and besides, there is a herd of cattle right behind to keep the teacher company. Prof thought I should take this school for a year! I think NOT! (They hired someone the day before I arrived.)

The Other Side of the Sidewalk

An old park bench and an old birdhouse sit in this flowerbed.
